Ecuador isonlyoneof our successful overseas studyprograms.Between
2012and2014wehaveofferedeight opportunities for overseas study. We
haveofferedopportunities inGhana ,Cuba, Jordan, andSouthAfrica, and
our twonewopportunities for summer2014are inSamoaandCostaRica.
Included in this issuearepictures from theMarch2014 International
Festival,manyof them takenby IUSoutheast student JoshuaRowe. Josh
is amember of ourHorizon staffand,with someother students, is starting
aphotography clubon campus. Youwill alsohave theopportunity to read
about our currentADIEResearchFellow,ValerieScott, andher recent
researchproject. Simplybyopening themagazine, you’ve seen several of the
winningphotographs from the International PhotoContest, sopleaseenjoy
those throughout this issue. Youmayfind that you recognize thenamesof
the someof thephotographers. Perhapsnext year, youwill beencouraged to
submit aphotographof your own.
The International ProgramsCommittee is averyactive committeeon
campus andhasbeen chairedbyKateMoore, oneof our librarians, for
several years. The committee is tobe commended for itswork tobringa
number ofwonderful international activities to IUSoutheast, aswell as its
workwith theoverseas scholarships available toour students.
Asyou learnmoreabout theseprograms, remember topass that knowledge
toour students, encouraging them toparticipate in theseexcitingand life-
enhancingactivities.
