Transition to Teaching Licensing Programs
IU Southeast offers alternative certification programs for individuals seeking a teaching license. These programs are designed as a fast-track option to licensure for individuals who already have a bachelor's degree in an area other than education. These licensing programs can also be used as part of a master's degree.
The elementary Transition to Teaching program leads to an elementary generalist license for teaching kindergarten through sixth grade.
The secondary Advance to Teaching program leads to a license for teaching grades 5 through 12 in one of 17 content areas.
The post-baccalaureate initial licensing program in Special Education leads to a license in teaching students at any grade level with mild to moderate disabilities.
