Welcome to the IU Southeast and IU East Environmental, Health, and Safety webpage.
The mission of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Office is to augment the university academic mission by promoting and supporting a safe and healthy workplace and natural environment for Indiana University.
Through leadership, technical assistance, and training, Environmental, Health, and Safety will provide quality service in the development, implementation, and operation of comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs for the protection of the university community and the natural environment.
Services for IU Southeast and IU East now come primarily from the IU Southeast EH&S office located in Room 129 Hausfeldt Building on the IU Southeast campus. Specialty services and support are also provided by the University Office of Environmental, Health, and Safety Management in Bloomington.
With the ongoing consolidation of EH&S University wide, all EH&S Policies, Programs, and Guidelines are now University wide and not campus specific and can be found on the Protect IU EH&S website. Many of these documents are currently undergoing revision so that the wording reflects this change but it will take some time to finish them. In the short-term, if it applies at one campus it applies at all of them. An alphabetized list of these Policies, Programs, and Guidelines is available for download and can also be found on the Programs & Policies webpage. If the program you are looking for isn't listed on Protect IU then the program shown on the IU Bloomington EH&S website is the one currently in effect. As programs are being revised they will be removed from the Bloomington EH&S website. During that transition it is possible that different versions of a program may show up on both sites for a short time. In that case, the one on the Protect IU site is the one that has precedence.
Several of the links provided on this website link directly to the Bloomington EH&S site and some forms on that site are specific to the Bloomington campus. Always check to see if a form is a campus specific one. Look to see if there is an IU Southeast/IU East version of it on this site. Fill-in forms on this site will be routed directly to the IU Southeast office.
