Applied Health Science - Community Health Educator
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science (BSAHS) can prepare you to work in a variety of health careers, including both for-profit and not-for-profit health-related organizations. The program covers the basic technical and applied aspects of health science including health care delivery and leadership, health communication, policy, and ethics. Students majoring in the BSAHS with a concentration in the Community Health Educator track will be able to take the Certified Health Education Specialist Examination (CHES) offered by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. Becoming a CHES opens many more public health opportunities.
Applied Health Science - Health Administration

The program covers the basic technical and applied aspects of health science combined with coursework in health care organization, planning, budgeting, finance, supervision, and resource management. Students majoring in the BSAHC with a concentration in the Health Administration track will be prepared for both administrative and management roles in a variety of health-related organizations.
Applied Science - Health Management Track
Common careers associated with this degree include provider consultant, pharmaceutical sales, health insurance specialist, practice manager, laboratory manager, human resources manager and more. This degree program is excellent for mid-career adults already working in a wide range of applied fields. Degree core courses focus on accounting and bookkeeping; economics; legal, ethical, social, and/or international topics; supervision; marketing and communication.
Applied Science - Individual Track
As a student in the Individual Track, you’ll take courses based on your interests, backgrounds and needs. For example, if you have an associate’s degree in design technology and wish to change careers, you might choose courses in web development or graphic design. Or, similarly, if you have experience in advanced manufacturing and want to become a supervisor or manager, you might take courses in human resources, communication or management skills. The possibilities are broad with this degree. The courses prepare you to demonstrate your ability to think critically and solve problems; effectively present central ideas, issues and methods of inquiry specific to the fields studied; and apply knowledge and skills from general education.

Human Resources Management (HRM) consists of the policies, practices and systems that influence and support the behavior, attitudes and performance of employees. The type of work HR professionals typically perform includes the development and implementation of a large variety of human resource functions and programs such as hiring, staffing, training, human resource development, performance management, equal opportunity compliance, safety management, employee relations, wellness, communication and motivation programs.

Managers must be able to plan, organize and lead. Marketing is the business function responsible for generating the ideas and connections that make money for the organization. A Marketing concentration prepares students for careers in many areas of marketing and many different types of organizations. Some examples include advertising, brand/product management, marketing research, not-for-profit marketing, public relations and strategic marketing management. Recent graduates have been hired by companies that include Yum! Brands, UPS, Brown-Foreman and Humana.
Business - Professional Sales
This program was created to draw high-ability students toward selling as a career, to better prepare students—regardless of major—for early success in professional selling careers, and to connect students with sales professionals in the Kentuckiana region. Selling careers span across many, many industries, thus making this a very versatile program of study.

Informatics
Informatics encourages and facilitates the process of collecting, cultivating and organizing information for businesses, organizations and individuals. Interdisciplinary Studies
This program typically requires students to complete the same core requirements as students in more traditional majors. In the upper division, students choose three unique disciplines as concentrations and earn at least 15 credits in each. This degree is an excellent foundation for entrance into graduate school – to pursue a Master’s degree in any field, including Interdisciplinary Studies – as well as a range of careers involving creative leadership and knowledge management.
Journalism - Multimedia Track
The Multimedia Journalism track is designed for students who are interested in pursuing careers that would use skills in multimedia storytelling. Those careers might include online, print or broadcast journalism; social media communication and marketing; advertising; public and media relations; non-fiction writing and narrative storytelling; photography, design, and visual communication; and others. You’ll develop professional portfolios and experience while in college that will help you land jobs and internships.
Journalism - Public Relations Track
This track allows students to focus on the growing field of public relations. Students in the track will start with building journalistic storytelling skills, including learning how to write for media, communicate with visuals, and use social media. They will then focus on learning how to use those skills within the context of strategic communications campaigns. Those studying Public Relations might find careers as PR account executives; social media managers; directors of communications and public affairs; event coordinators; internal communication specialists; and others.
Neuroscience
This is a multi-disciplinary program that takes you inside the nervous system and its relationships to mind and behavior, helping you understand how the brain and nerves are important for a range of abilities including thought, speech, learning, mental wellness and sensory functioning.
