Mission

"Adaptable education for life and work in the 21st Century"

The IU Southeast General Studies Program uniquely exists to serve busy adults to earn a Bachelor of General Science Degree. It allows efficiency through prior learning, testing and transfer credit, while its program goals pursue the effectiveness of a quality education that instills the capacity and confidence to succeed in life and work in an evolving world. The General Studies graduate is well-rounded, creative and analytical, yet fair-minded in reaching solutions and making decisions that are wise and humane.

Vision

To support the IU Southeast mission to provide a quality education to students in the southern Indiana, Greater Louisville Metropolitan area, the General Studies Program will contribute substantively to the number of adult learners in the region who choose to complete their undergraduate degrees, notwithstanding a period of stop-out needed to focus on other goals.
