Getting Started at IU Southeast

Why IU Southeast?

We believe that you have selected a great place to work. With competitive total compensation, generous time off, tremendous retirement programs, outstanding benefits, approachable and helpful leadership, and a beautiful, safe campus, Indiana University Southeast is an employer of choice in the community.

Getting Started at IU Southeast

Let anyone in the Human Resources department, your supervisor, or any member of the leadership team know how we can help you get off to the best possible start. Ask a coworker for a campus tour, introduce yourself to one new person each day, visit our art gallery and library, enjoy lunch outside on a beautiful day, or take a walk around our park-like campus to get acquainted with your new favorite place that you have ever worked.

Your supervisor will assist you with the first steps in job performance, computer access, email, keys, phone service, and other necessary tools and information.

Required Paperwork for New Employees

The notated paperwork needs to be completed a week before your hire date.

Once you are hired, you will receive an email to complete the following online:

Crimson Card

The Crimson Card is your employee ID and a campus pre-paid debit card. Dining services, campus bookstore, and many local merchants accept the Crimson Card as a form of payment. The Crimson Card is the updated name for the old UCard, to which you may still see remaining references.

New Employee Orientation

A new employee orientation is held every other Tuesday. We are also ready to assist you sooner than your scheduled orientation if you have benefit questions or any particular question or need.

Payroll

Professional Staff (those who are exempt from overtime) and Faculty are paid monthly on the last work day of the month with the exception of December. December pay is paid on the first work day of January. The monthly payroll schedule can be accessed on the Pay Date Schedules page.

Support staff (those who are not exempt from overtime) are paid biweekly. The biweekly payroll schedule can be accessed on the Bi-Weekly Payroll Schedule page.
