Meditation is a simple yet challenging practice of moment-to-moment awareness. When practiced regularly, its many benefits become clear: reduced stress and anxiety, improved ability to focus, and decreased emotional reactivity, to name a few.
Instructor Claire Slemmer will introduce us to this secular practice and provide encouragement and support throughout the five-week program. While sitting together in stillness and silence, we will follow our breath and observe what is going on inside us and around us in the present moment. Group discussion will follow. We will also learn how to establish a practice at home, and to apply mindfulness in our daily lives.
