The purpose of this class is to help students master the basics of monologue work. Students will learn how to pick and prepare audition pieces. We will cover various acting methods to help students develop their own personal process for character development. Students will also learn ways to healthily sustain themselves in the industry with the ability to deliver a strong and consistent performance each time.
About the instructor
Tyler Tate
Tyler is honored to be an adjunct professor of Acting II at IU Southeast and a Private Acting Coach for the Lifelong Learning/Arts Institute Programs. He is a graduate of The Alabama State University Department of Theatre Arts BA program and the University of Louisville’s Graduate Acting program. Since graduating, he has worked with Kentucky Shakespeare, StageOne Family Theatre, Pandora Productions, Redline Performing Arts, Louisville Fringe Fest, Louisville Ballet, UofL Rep Company, and Derby Dinner Playhouse.
