Adrienne Sams Biography
Adrienne Sams, wife of James Sams, mother of two and stepmother of three, of Louisville, Kentucky, considers herself a life-long learner and looks forward to sharing that journey with her future students.
Her decision to study elementary education was fueled by her passion for learning and her love of children. She tapped into that passion during her involvement with her children’s school and extracurricular activities. Adrienne chose to pursue her degree at IU Southeast based on research, testimonials, achievements of her peers and the small class size.
Adrienne is a youth sponsor and deacon at Louisville’s Beargrass Christian Church. She is a member of the Children’s Ministry team and is active in the planning and execution of the children’s religious curriculum. She is also an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Unit 115. On campus, she is a member of the Student Educational Association and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Adrienne looks forward to graduation day, as she will be the first member of her family to earn a bachelor’s degree. She plans to work in the Jefferson County Public School System, helping children grow and blossom on their journey in learning. She will return to IU Southeast to work for her master’s degree and hopes to one day become a principal.
