Voter Registration

In compliance with certain federal and state regulations, IU Southeast is committed to bringing awareness of voter registration information and procedures to students.

For Indiana Residents

Generally, physical forms can be obtained at the following offices:

  • County Voter Registration Office
  • Public Libraries
  • State License Branches
  • Certain City, Town, and Township Offices

However, the most convenient method for registering to vote is available at the Indiana Election Commission Website. From this site, you can download and complete the VRG-7 Voter Registration form (or the VRG-7P Voter Registration- Spanish language version) and follow instructions to mail it to the appropriate office for the county in which you live. Or, if you have a valid Indiana Driver’s License or Indiana State Identification Card, you may complete an Online Voter Registration application.

Registration Deadline: Applications must be postmarked, hand delivered to your county voter registration office, or completed online no later than 29 days before the next election.

For Kentucky Residents

Kentucky residents are encouraged to use the GoVoteKY Online Voter Registration system.

More information about voting, and specific information about voting in other states, is available at the resource rich U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
