Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in International Affairs

Do you wish to learn more about international affairs for career advancement or personal enrichment?

Our certificate in international affairs gives students an understanding of international issues today, offering insights into cultural, social, political, historical, geographic, and economic variables essential to appreciating an increasingly globalized world, as well as a basic introduction to one European language.

Required Courses

The post-bac certificate in International Affairs consists of 15-16 credit hours to consist of the following components:

One course from each of the four areas (12 credit hours)
(Note: No more than two courses shall be below the 100-level)

Electives (3-4 credit hours)
One elective from the International Studies curriculum or, strongly encouraged, a study abroad program offered through the Indiana University Office of Overseas Studies: various short-term (2-3 weeks) and summer programs (3-6) weeks are available, including an increasing number of programs based at IU Southeast.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required to receive the certificate.

Admission Process

To apply for a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, you must submit the following:

  • Application for Undergraduate Admission
  • A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $35 is required. This fee is not required if you have previously applied for undergraduate admission at any Indiana University Campus.
  • Official transcripts from the college/university awarding your bachelor's degree.
