Turner, Leslie

Leslie Turner has worked in financial aid over 7 years, speaking at over two dozen events every year on campus and in the community. Leslie’s articles on financial aid have been published in the national magazine “Student Aid Transcript”, produced by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). In 2011 Leslie was chosen to serve on the editorial board for this prestigious national organization. In addition to her work in financial aid, Leslie also serves as Vice President of the Hispanic Connection of Southern Indiana and as an advisory board member of the IU Southeast Center for Mentoring and the IU Southeast Diversity Council. In 2009 she received the IU Southeast Distinguished Service Award. Leslie serves as a financial aid liaison to the Spanish-speaking community as needed and specializes in understanding the special needs of International and ESL students as well as students undergoing difficult life circumstances. Leslie demystifies financial aid for students and families and enjoys helping her constituents overcome life’s obstacles to achieve their educational goals. During her spare time Leslie is a regular blogger and technology buff. She is available to present in person or via the web.
