An official transcript is a comprehensive record of all courses completed at any of the Indiana University campuses. Any student whose University financial account is clear may obtain a copy of his or her complete academic record (official transcript) from the Registrar's Office at IU Southeast. The request may be submitted in person, via mail or via fax. In addition, if you are currently enrolled or have been enrolled within the past five years, you may request a transcript online. Transcripts may be distributed to the student or sent to a third party.
Official transcripts are printed on security paper and are embossed with the Indiana University seal and signature of the Registrar. Each transcript is provided in a "sealed" envelope. Transcripts are $8.00 each with an additional $5.00 for expedited PDF delivery. Fees can be paid by check, money order, debit card, or master/visa/discover/american express charge card. Cash is also accepted for in-person transactions.
It is a violation of the law for the university to release a copy of the transcript without the student's specific authorization. For more information, visit Confidentiality and Access to Student Records.
To receive a copy of your transcript, all financial obligations to the University must be clear/current. If you have any past balance due, there will be a "hold" on your record and we will not issue your transcript. If you think you might have any past debt to the university, please contact the Bursar's Office at 812-941-2335 before submitting your transcript request.
eTranscript request (eTran) is an online request service requiring payment by credit card. Transcripts are $8.00 each; we accept MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American Express (debit/credit card).
Use our new expedited delviery service, for an additional $5.00 per request.
This link will take you to the eTranscript Request Service in OneStart.
Please bring a picture ID and the $8.00 per transcript fee with you when you come in person. Complete a Transcript Request Form acquired from the Registrar's Office in US107. You may pay by check or money order made payable to Indiana University; by MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American Express charge card; debit card; or cash at the Bursar's Office located next door in room US103. We will produce your transcript usually within 1-2 business days. [Note: in times of high volume--end of a term--transcripts are produced as quickly as possible, but may exceed 1-2 business days.] After your transcript is printed, it can be mailed or held for pick up at a later time. Bring a picture ID when requesting and picking up your transcript. If a third party will be picking up your transcript, they must have your written permission to do so and have a photo ID.
Some institutions or agencies prefer the transcript be sent directly to them--not hand carried by the student. Check with them to determine if this is an issue. All transcripts are placed in a sealed envelope with the Registrar's signature affixed to the back.
To request a transcript by fax fill out the Transcript Request Form . The form must reflect your signature. Transcripts are $8.00 each. Payment must be made by MasterCard/Visa/Discover/American Express charge card ONLY. You may call the Bursar directly at 812-941-2335 and give them your credit card information rather than putting it on the request form. We are not prepared at this time to accept requests for transcripts via e-mail. Faxed requests are processed and mailed within twenty-four hours of receipt of the request.
Though IU Southeast will accept faxed requests for transcripts, we do not fax or electronically transmit official transcripts out due to the security paper used.
Fax the completed form to(812) 941-2351.
