Volunteer Incentive Program
The IU Southeast Volunteer Programs has created a program to help award and track our student’s community participation. By signing up for the VIP program, students will have access to our resources and become eligible for various incentives. Students enroll and report their hours online. Awards will are presented at the annual Campus Commitment to Student Learning Awards ceremony each spring.
- Sign up for the VIP program
NOTE: Volunteering is considered giving personal time and energy (free of charge) to address immediate COMMUNITY needs. Examples include tutoring, serving food at a shelter, building or repairing homes, neighborhood or park clean up, office work for a local not for profit organization, etc.. Things such as having a table for your organization during Week of Welcome or preparing for an event hosted by your organization are considered Participation in Association. Going forward volunteer hours will not be granted for Participation in Association. If you have questions about the recent change please feel free to contact the Office of Campus Life at (812) 941-2316.
- Report Hours Online
To encourage IU Southeast students to participate in community service, the Volunteer Programs offers a package of incentives. Once you register for the Volunteer Incentive Program (V.I.P.) you become eligible for special prizes.
Hours may be submitted throughout the year and will be tallied during the month of March. Awards will be presented at the annual Campus Committment to Student Learning Awards ceremony.
If you are a member of a student organization the VIP reporting system is how you record your hours for I-Chip points.
