Housing Handbook

The Residence Life and Housing Handbook is filled with important information related to living on campus. These guidelines have been established to maximize your comfort, convenience, safety, and to establish expectations of behavior essential for a meaningful and productive community. For further information, students should consult the Housing Contract, the IU Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct, and Residence Life and Housing staff members. Your understanding and respect of these policies are critical to your success as a member of the campus residential community.

Parking Regulations

The purpose of Parking Regulations is to expedite the efficient flow of traffic on the IU Southeast campuses and to provide parking facilities for faculty, staff, students and visitors. Revenues generated from the parking fee system is used to operate, maintain, improve and expand all IU Southeast parking facilities.

Copyright Infringement Activity

Indiana University has been responding to an increase in claims that some students have used “peer to peer” software like BitTorrent and LimeWire to download and share copyrighted songs/videos over the internet without the permission of the copyright holders. It is important to realize that programs like these, by default, open downloaded files on your computer and make them available to the entire internet community. Some students may not realize that it is generally illegal to share copyrighted music, videos, games, and software files over the Internet without the permission of the copyright holder. In some cases there can even be criminal penalties.

Tobacco-Free Policy

Effective August 2007, the use or sale of tobacco or tobacco products is prohibited on university-owned, -operated, -or lease property. The use of tobacco or tobacco products in personal vehicles is allowable.

Sanctions for Noncompliance with COVID-19 Health and Safety Directives

Indiana University Southeast is taking actions in light of COVID-19 with the goal of promoting a safe environment for our students, employees, and community. Compliance with health and safety directives by university students is critical to achieving this goal.
