Welcome to the School of Social Sciences at IU Southeast. Our focus is on fields of study that deal with human interaction, societal institutions, and individuals. We award undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Criminal Justice, History, International Studies, Journalism & Media, Neuroscience, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. We are excited to now offer a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling for graduates as they prepare to become licensed mental health counselors in the state of Indiana. We offer two Graduate Certificates – one in Psychology and the other in History – for those seeking to expand their skills and credentials. Many of our faculty work closely with the Master of Interdisciplinary Studies degree program, and we also offer certificates and minors, including pre-law for undergraduate students and those looking to continue their education after graduation.

Students in all disciplines enjoy small class sizes taught by highly credentialed faculty, opportunities to participate directly in advanced research projects as undergraduates, and professional networking and/or internships. Our faculty are dedicated to providing the educational tools that will enable students to become the leaders of tomorrow, stressing skills that today’s employers demand. As a result, IU Southeast graduates are employed at all levels of government, at nonprofit agencies and at businesses of all kinds.
