Borrowing & Circulation
Library materials are borrowed and returned at the Circulation Desk, located on the second (main) floor of the Library. This is also where you check out items your professor may have placed on Reserve.
All Indiana University students, faculty, and staff can check out materials using a valid form of identification (e.g. your CrimsonCard, state-issued driver's license, passport, etc.). Indiana residents, Kentucky residents living in Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Meade, Shelby, and Trimble counties, and any student, faculty, or staff at a Metroversity university may apply for a Library Community Borrower's Card.
IU Southeast undergraduate students may have materials for 45 days. Faculty, staff, and graduate students may borrow materials for 120 days. Anyone who has a Library Community Borrower's card may have materials for 30 days.
IU Southeast faculty, staff, and students may renew materials online via IUCAT, by telephone, in person, or by mail. All other users may renew items by telephone, in person, or by mail. IU faculty, staff, and students may renew overdue materials. Indiana residents and Metroversity users must pay overdue fines before overdue items may be renewed.
Overdue fines are 25 cents per day.
The attendants at the Circulation Desk can explain specific borrowing guidelines and policies or you may visit our Policy Page to learn more.
